THE
INTERFAITH COUNCIL ON
ECONOMIC AND JUSTICE
(South Bay)
The Interfaith Council a project of Working Partnerships, USA is an association
of clergy and laity guided by the moral values of
love and compassion from their respective religious
and faith traditions and committed to work with labor and community
organizations to promote social, economic and racial
justice in Silicon Valley and beyond.
Through
the promotion of human solidarity and the common good,
they are creating an inclusive community of justice,
abundance and peace.
The
Interfaith Council counts among its accomplishments
a successful living wage campaign in San Jose, being
a key anchor in a campaign that won health benefits
for all children in Santa Clara County, a comprehensive
housing program for low and very low-income families,
and support for more than a dozen struggles of low-wage
workers in a range of industries.
Nearly
ten years old, the group has a board of ten representatives
from six different denominations and 75 active religious
leaders engaged in its work. The Interfaith Council
partners closely with Working Partnerships USA and other
community and labor groups in their campaigns. Please visit their webpage by clicking here.
